Pistons at the Park: Revving up for autumn edition of twice-yearly car show at Thremhall Park near Bishop's Stortford
Pistons at the Park, the twice-yearly car show near Bishop's Stortford, returns this Sunday (Sept 26) for its autumn outing.
The free family event is organised and hosted by Mantle Business Centres at its head office at Thremhall Park, in the shadows of the M11 and Stansted Airport. It runs from 10.30am to 1.30pm.
The popular showcase at the historic 12-acre parkland site has been staged twice a year since it got off the start grid in 2011, with the exception of last year, when the events were cancelled in accordance with Government guidelines arising from the coronavirus pandemic.
Pistons at the Park has always attracted an array of the best in modern and recent supercars, luxury cars and classic vehicles – and Sunday's event will be no exception.
Owners must register to showcase their car by visiting the website mantlebusinesscentres.co.uk/pistonsatthepark. If you have a query about registering, please call 01279 874314. There is separate parking for spectators, who do not need to register.
The Coffee Shop at Thremhall Park will be open for refreshments, breakfast rolls and snacks, and will also be serving barbecue food until 1.30pm.
The event will be supporting Mantle's nominated charity, Accuro, based about a mile away at Start Hill, which provides specialist services for children, young people and adults with a disability across West Essex.
These services in Saffron Walden, Great Dunmow, Harlow, Epping and Loughton enable Accuro members to take part in a wide range of social and leisure opportunities which help to reduce social isolation, build confidence and encourage independence.
Sarah, the mum of Accuro member William, says: “William’s Accuro club is a unique environment where the children are just able to be themselves, and the staff care for and accommodate each child’s needs. As a parent I am so happy to see this and think it is a fantastic resource for my child, and I just don’t need to worry about him at all while he is there.”
