Sophie Austin and Shayne Ward raise cash for Little Havens Hospice for children
Former Hollyoaks actress Sophie Austin is raising cash for the Little Havens Hospice for children with a sold-out concert this Saturday night (December 8), also starring her fiancé ex-Coronation Street star Shayne Ward.
The actress, who was a student at St Mary’s Catholic School in Bishop’s Stortford, has become a patron of the Essex charity.
She will be singing at Home @ Eat, Stansted Road, with her sister, Birchanger mum-of-two Esther Richards and their father, Sawbridgeworth’s Café of Angels boss Austin James.
Shayne, 34, is one of three special guests for the show, along with Charlie Turner and Tom Read Wilson.
He first found fame as the winner of the second series of X-Factor. His debut single, That’s My Goal, sold 313,000 copies on its first day of release, making it the third-fastest-selling single of all time in the UK and it was 2005’s Christmas number one in the pop charts.
He left his role as Aidan Connor in the northern soap earlier this year and his next part is the lead in film Stairs, a psychological drama.
When she launched the concert, Sophie – whose screen credits also include Casualty, Moving On and Call the Midwife - said: “At the beginning of this year I visited Little Havens hospice and was totally in awe of what this place , the workers the families do here to make these children’s time so special and they hardly get any funding.”
Sophie and Shayne have a year-old daughter, Willow.
