St George's Day to be celebrated at mini beer festival

A mini beer festival to celebrate St George's Day will be staged at Bishop's Stortford Cricket Club on Saturday (April 21).

The event at Cricketfield Lane is being organised as a joint venture by the Bishop’s Stortford Community Sports Trust and Peek Business Centre-based Secret Sausage Shop, from which the business’s team of ‘Meat Masons’ will provide gourmet sausages and burgers alongside 12 beers on offer.

The event runs from noon to 10pm and admission is free. Visitors can also expect live music and, from 1.30pm, a cricket match between Bishop’s Stortford and Hoddesdon.

Elaine Sedgwick, one of the event organisers, said: “The sports club is in a superb location but one which sometimes gets overlooked. We’re working hard to change that and make it a place that everyone can enjoy.”
