Jack to cover Coldplay's Christmas Lights
Bishop's Stortford-educated singer-songwriter Jack Cullen will make his BBC TV debut on Wednesday evening (Dec 19) when he performs on Look East immediately before The One Show.
Jack will be singing his version of Christmas Lights by Coldplay, accompanied by Andy Yeates on keys.
The session was recorded in Water Lane Bar & Kitchen last week and was organised by BBC Introducing Three Counties (Beds, Herts, Bucks), who have championed Jack since he emerged on the scene.
A former Bishop’s Stortford College pupil, Jack used to be a professional rugby player, appearing for Munster and Ireland at his age group before repeated injuries forced him to change direction. His brother George plays fly half for Stortford.
Since playing a very well-received set at Standon Calling in the summer, Jack has released two singles on Spotify – Learn and Teabags & Cigarettes – which between them have notched up more than 150,000 streams.
“There's more music coming, we’re finishing production on it at the moment, and that will be out and about early in the new year,” he says. “Some local show announcements are around the corner too.”
Tune in to Look East on BBC One on Wednesday (Dec 19) from 6.30pm to see Jack in action.
