Bishop’s Stortford Acoustic Club is holding a 6 Act x 4 Song night at The Belgian Brewer on Thursday March 6.

String Section, Shouts at Clouds, Mike Excell and Mike Johnson will be performing alongside Ray Hollingworth and Mark Dellar.

String Section play fiddle, mandolin and guitar and deliver fine vocals. It would be hard to define their style - is it bluegrass, is it country, is it Kentucky Mountain music? Whatever it is, it will be perfectly executed.

Shouts at Clouds is Pete Croft’s solo project which sees him focus on original music and slightly non-standard covers which can be light-hearted, serious, uplifting and dark.

Excell is a first-rate singer/songwriter/guitarist. His writing is poetry in music and he delivers his superb songs with a smile on his face and joy in his heart.

Johnson is the front man of soft rock band JONO, but as a solo performer he is able to explore other genres and writers. Expect him to select a range of covers and put his own unique stamp on them.

All-round entertainer Hollingworth has an excellent voice and is a very accomplished guitarist while Dellar has a reputation for performing personalised covers that are as interesting as performances can be.

Admission is £5, cash or card, on the door on the night. Doors open at 7.30pm and music starts at 8pm.

The Belgian Brewer is at 11 Links Business Centre, off Raynham Road.
