His songs create vignettes of ordinary life and seaside communities. This writing is no better shown than on his 2021 album Clifftown, a themed album based on his personal experiences and the wider hidden histories of his hometown, Southend-on-Sea.

His second full-length album, With Wolves the Lamb Will Lie, was listed as one of the best folk albums of 2016 by the Daily Telegraph.

He has been a member of Blue Rose Code, Emily Portman’s Coracle Band and The Lucky Strikes and was a touring member of US groups The Duke and the King and the Simone Felice Group.

Doors open at 7.30pm and music starts at 8pm. Entry is £7. Book in advance at southmillarts.co.uk to ensure a seat. There will be the option to pay £7, cash or card, on the door on the night.
