Full details of Hallowe’en activities at Cammas Hall Farm near Bishop’s Stortford
Hallowe’en at Cammas Hall Farm promises to be even bigger, better and more spook-tacular than ever.
Now into its 10th year of growing pumpkins and running devilishly good activities for all ages, the venue, just outside Hatfield Broad Oak, is looking forward to thrilling visitors on selected dates from Saturday October 4 to Friday October 31.
There will also be live music courtesy of its Cammas Hall Resurrected Nights when tribute acts, including the likes of Tina Turner, Amy Winehouse and Elvis Presley, will perform Dead Legend concerts.
The ghoulish daytime goings are centred around the Hallowe’en Pumpkin Patch featuring the towering seven-metre-tall Pumpcano, which will rumble deeply before bursting into life with fiery eruptions.
The Wicked Walkways are back to offer a thrill-and-chill immersive experience. The first is family-friendly and full of haunting props and surprises while the second, the Terror Tunnel, is for hardcore Hallowe’eners only aged 12 and above.
There will be plenty of interaction to enjoy with the Hallowe’en characters along the way. Who will be lurking in the shadows?
If visitors make it out of the Wicked Walkways in one piece, they will emerge into the enormous pumpkin patch featuring over 70 varieties of pumpkin and squash to choose from. There will be some fabulous photo opportunities and over 30,000 pumpkins on display.
Visitors can also marvel at the mammoth Pumpkin Mosaic - which will be three times bigger than last year’s inaugural effort and will depict a seasonal scene using more than 10,000 pumpkins.
Guests can dare to pay a visit after dark with the Resurrected Nights running on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Not only can you ramp up the fear factor by entering the Terror Turner in the dark, but live music from the Dead Legends can be enjoyed from 6.45pm to 8.15pm.
The concert line-up is: Friday October 10 - Tina Turner; Saturday October 11 - Elvis Presley; Friday October 17 - Aretha Franklin; Saturday October 18 - George Michael; Friday October 24 - Meatloaf; Saturday October 25 - James Brown; Friday October 31 - Amy Winehouse.
The Dinosaur Maize Maze will be open both day and night (weather permitting) with new Hallowe’en-themed games to play in the mini maze and main maze. One entrance fee covers both mazes on the seven-acre site and visitors will need to navigate carefully to find their way out. There will be a small reward for everyone who finds the exit and the opportunity to be entered into a prize draw.
The Tea Barn will be open from 9am to 4pm for breakfasts, lunches, cakes and light refreshments and the Cammas Cavern will also be open in the patch on busier days and at night-time events. During busier periods, the BBQ and pizza oven will also open during the day.
Visitors will be able to warm up with seasonal treats such as mulled cider, pumpkin spiced lattes and the farm’s legendary hot chocolates or indulge in something spooky from the Ice Cream Parlour.
There will also be a range of Hallowe’en crafts for children to purchase while the farm shop will be stocked with a whole host of Hallowe’en goodies, including carving kits and spooky decorations.
Dogs are welcome in the outside dining area and the Maize Maze. They are not permitted into the Hallowe’en Experience and Pumpkin Patch or indoor areas. Cammas Hall has toilets, disabled toilets and baby changing facilities.
