High Wych Scarecrow Festival on Saturday and Sunday (September 11-12)
Hundreds of visitors are expected to flock to High Wych this weekend to marvel at creations in its annual scarecrow festival.
The event runs from 10am to 5pm on Saturday (Sept 11) and from 11am to 5pm on Sunday (Sept 12).
As well as dozens of scarecrows dotted around the village near Sawbridgeworth, there will be live music, art and craft stalls, a barbecue, cake and refreshments for sale.
The focal point is St James Church in High Wych Road. There is parking at the church, at High Wych C of E Primary School and at the private Rivers Hospital at the entrance to the village.
Look out also for toadstools made out of recycled umbrellas and traffic cones and large butterflies created using recycled plastic, which were all made by villagers at an event outside the Memorial Hall on July 3.
